The terminal reinforces its environmental commitment by incorporating electric vehicles, in line with the Green Strategy of the Port of Algeciras.
As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, TTI Algeciras has added four fully electric Hyundai Inster vehicles to its internal fleet. These new units will support the daily mobility of staff within the terminal and will help further reduce the environmental footprint of the company’s operations.
With an estimated range of 500 kilometres, the vehicles will be used for operational and maintenance support activities. The choice of the Hyundai brand reflects the trust placed in its reliability, battery performance, and dedication to sustainable mobility.
The official handover of the vehicles was carried out by Permotor Algeciras, represented by Ricardo Alfonso Álvarez and Ricardo Alfonso Venzala. On behalf of TTI Algeciras, the units were received by CEO Alonso Luque and Deputy CEO & COO Francisco Rivera, reinforcing a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability.
This initiative is part of the terminal’s decarbonization roadmap and is aligned with the Green Strategy of the Port of Algeciras Bay Authority, which promotes an energy transition across the port area focused on efficiency and emission reductions.
Since its inauguration in 2010, TTI Algeciras has operated as a semi-automated terminal, a model that has allowed it to maintain above-average standards of efficiency and sustainability for over 15 years. The incorporation of fully electric vehicles further strengthens this positioning and contributes to building a more environmentally respectful operational model.

This action is part of a broader environmental improvement plan, which also includes the expansion of charging points, modernization of equipment, and the progressive incorporation of solutions that increase the sustainability and efficiency levels of the services that TTI Algeciras offers as a container terminal.
