The DANA storm that struck on Tuesday, October 29, devastated over 70 towns across Valencia province in Spain, impacting nearly 30% of the region. From the beginning, TTI ALGECIRAS moved quickly to provide aid jointly with “Coordinadora Solidaria del Puerto de Algeciras”, a humanitarian project of Spain’s principal dockworkers’ union, to deliver essential materials to the hardest-hit areas. The news and its consequences have deeply affected us all. Both the company’s staff and management wish to express their condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirm their support to the people of Valencia, with whom we share close ties, as well as to the region’s logistics and port community.

Recognizing the scale of the tragedy, the procurement team, led by Juan Gonzalez and Salvador Carrasco, reached out to our regular local suppliers, CASA PASTOR, EMATGAS and ICOM BEARING who also wholeheartedly committed to this cause, emptying their warehouses of these products to gather the necessary materials for debris clearing, cleaning, and mud removal efforts. Among the items sent are waterproof boots, waterproof suits, protective masks, disposable overalls, reusable overalls, nitrile gloves, flashlights, high-pressure washers, extension cables, shovels, wheelbarrows, spatulas, submersible pumps, various cleaning products, mops, brooms and replacements, sweeping brushes, water buckets, garbage bags, garbage cans, plastic baskets, and hoses.

The total value of these materials exceeds 9,000 EUR, of which more than 5,000 EUR has been contributed by TTI ALGECIRAS, while the remainder reflects significant discounts from the local suppliers, as well as full donations of certain items.

The company and its entire staff reaffirm their commitment to the community. On Monday, November 4, the ALTRANSA truck carrying these supplies departed for the most affected areas. TTI ALGECIRAS expresses heartfelt gratitude to all collaborators who contributed to this essential support in critical times.
